CogAT-Style Reasoning Practice: Words, Numbers and Shapes
The optional Training Hall practices three kinds of reasoning: verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal. Parents can choose from three difficulty bands, starting with the original early-elementary pathway and adding more complex number and visual relationships.

- Word Woods: picture analogies, sentence completion, and picture classification.
- Number Nexus: number analogies, number puzzles, and number series.
- Shape Citadel: figure matrices, paper-folding patterns, and figure classification.
- Earn reasoning stars for correct first answers and spend them on themed rewards.
Worked practice examples
2 becomes 5. Apply the same “add 3” rule to 6.
6 + 3 = 9. In an analogy, apply the same relationship to the second pair.
Continue the pattern: 4, 7, 10, 13, …
16. Each step adds 3.
How to use this practice
These independently authored exercises are practice, not official test items, a timed CogAT simulation, or a score predictor. The difficulty bands are not calibrated to official CogAT test levels. Some verbal examples repeat because those small sets are finite; number and visual templates provide additional variation. Review explanations together after an incorrect answer or a skip.
