Trigonometry Practice: Angles, Functions and Triangles

Trigonometry connects angles, triangles and repeating functions. MathCraft includes a dedicated trigonometry level with 11 selectable skills. Parents can combine it with geometry, algebra or precalculus instead of assigning every topic at once.

Worked practice examples

Convert 150 degrees to radians.

Multiply by π/180: 150π/180 = 5π/6 radians. A half-turn is 180 degrees, or π radians.

In a right triangle, the side opposite θ is 3 and the hypotenuse is 5. What is sin θ?

Sine is opposite divided by hypotenuse, so sin θ = 3/5. Identify the sides relative to the marked angle before choosing a ratio.

If sin θ = 3/5 and θ is acute, find cos θ.

Use sin² θ + cos² θ = 1. Then cos² θ = 1 − 9/25 = 16/25. Since θ is acute, cosine is positive: cos θ = 4/5.

How to use this practice

Begin with right-triangle ratios and angle units, then connect them to the unit circle. Pay attention to whether a question uses degrees or radians and whether it requests an exact or rounded value. The catalog includes generated practice and worked steps; it is a supplement, not a complete trigonometry course or unrestricted symbolic algebra system.

A common parent question

Where do I select trigonometry? In the Parent Command Center, edit a child’s learning path and expand Trigonometry. Choose the individual skills you want, then save.
